Have you ever been fooled with a make-money-online product? You were promised something awesome, but you saw it is just empty words at the end?
I will tell you here, how they do it. So if you find some ads that promise you to get rich quick, you know how to react.
First, they made a course product which is not that useful alone. This course will teach you some money-earning techniques which you will find on the internet for free with some research.
This can be how to use a particular affiliate site or how to use a Facebook business page or how to become a Google advertising guru etc.
You can become proficient in these topics with free information available on the internet. If you want to take your knowledge or skill to the next level on a particular topic, you will find a well-structured course on the topic on Udemy or Skillshare or other online course platforms.
But they make a very fancy landing page, promising success overnight. It is very simple to make a one-page landing page as lots of readymade solution is available in the web with low cost.
So they make a landing page with fake testimonials. You will see the only screenshot of those testimonials, but the chances of finding those people, in reality, are very low. Also sometimes they buy testimonials from people who are willing to do so.
They also host their course on a course-making platform with their custom domain. These course hosting platforms are not cheap. But these platforms charges based on sales, so not a big cost upfront.
All the things are ready and now they advertise heavily where they can. It can be YouTube ads or Facebook ads or Google Ads etc.
All these ads direct people to the awesome landing page they made with fake social proofs. Sometimes they offer something for free and then direct to course.
You may be wondering is it that profitable with these dummy courses? Let me show you a rough calculation.
In a very simple way, YouTube ads may cost $0.10 - $0.30 per ad. So if someone spends $1000 on YouTube ads, will get 5000 views on the ads.
If the conversion rate is only 2%, which actually maybe more than that, will get 100 sales from those ads.
Let's say per product is priced only $60. Then total sales will be $6000. If the product is priced at $500, then total sales will be $50,000.
So a $1000 ad spending can lead to that much profit. If the product is priced higher or spends more on ads, it will be way higher.
Also, keep in mind, I showed this calculation with only a 2% conversion rate. With a higher conversion and higher price, it can reach million!
